The challenge was to provide the customer with an efficient and reliable solution for pump station and control technology that meets the specific requirements and can be integrated into the existing control system.
- HOMA SK chamber, pre-piped and ready for connection
- HOMA HMC2 – with power supply and aeration station
- Cutter pumps GRP36 D EX
Building services engineering
In close cooperation with the engineering office HSI Consult GmbH from Trier, HOMA developed a customized solution for the Ulmen municipal utilities that reliably meets all project requirements. The solution included a fully pre-piped HOMA SK chamber equipped with two highly efficient submersible cutter pumps of type GRP36 D EX. The pump station is controlled by a HOMA HMC2 switchgear unit, which not only regulates pump operation but also manages the integrated aeration station – everything from a single source.
A particular focus was placed on remote monitoring: At the factory, the transmission system was precisely configured for the Ulmen control system and successfully tested. This enabled fast commissioning on site and increased the operational reliability of the entire station. For the control cabinet, a double-walled aluminum cabinet was chosen, specially designed for harsh outdoor conditions. It protects the electronics not only from weather influences such as heavy rain and extreme temperature fluctuations, but also from unauthorized access. Thanks to its well-thought-out design with effective heat dissipation, it ensures long-term trouble-free operation. A wide rain canopy also provides protection for maintenance personnel working on site.
Another highlight of the project is the IWS-HOMA HDPE pump chamber of type SK15-50/2. Manufactured from up to 100% recycled polyethylene and with an expected service life of over 50 years, it represents sustainable quality and durability. The integrated aeration station additionally ensures odor-free wastewater discharge – a benefit for both the environment and local residents. The Ulmen municipal utilities deliberately chose HOMA as their partner – not least because of positive experiences from previous projects. The proven product quality, customer-oriented support, and the advantage of receiving all components from a single source were decisive factors for awarding the contract.
The result: a powerful, future-proof solution that fully meets the high requirements for operational reliability and environmental compatibility.
