Injector System
Injector Tank Cleaning System
These flushing and aeration systems work by the principle of a Venturi jet and are used in applications like stormwater overflow tanks to circulate wastewater or mixed water and clean the tanks simultaneously. The system operates with a submersible wastewater pump installed at the lowest point of the tank, where it draws in water. This water is then pushed through an attached injector nozzle, which accelerates the flow and creates a suction effect through a vertical pipe. As a result, air is introduced into the system, forming an air-water mixture.
This high-speed air-water mixture is expelled from the jet pipe, preventing sediment from accumulating on the tank floor. By doing so, the system significantly delays the onset of decay and odor formation, enhancing the tank’s overall functionality.
One of the primary applications of these systems is in stormwater tanks and storage sewers within municipal infrastructure. Many of these facilities are already in operation, with more planned to accommodate growing demands. Since sewage treatment plants have limited wastewater treatment capacity, stormwater tanks and storage sewers serve as temporary storage solutions for excess wastewater or mixed water, especially during peak inflows or heavy rain events.
When sewer systems reach capacity, these tanks fill with wastewater, sometimes rapidly, and drain through gravity or pumps at a controlled rate, depending on the sewage treatment plant’s capacity. Over time, however, the repeated filling and draining of the tanks can lead to a buildup of solids, impairing the overall efficiency of the facility.
